A Conversation about Race and Racism

I reached out to my dear friend, Jennifer, and asked her if she’d be open to having a conversation.  She is an expert on the topic, both personally and professionally and she has agreed to have a conversation with me…and you.

A Conversation about Race and Racism

Have you ever told yourself “I don’t know what to do”?

This is one of the most sabotaging thoughts we can have.

It makes us feel overwhelmed, anxious and helpless. And when we feel this way, we don’t show up the woman we strive to be each day.

Every time we tell ourselves “I don’t know”, we are chipping away at our self-confidence.

What if it was natural to NOT know everything?

What if we gave ourselves permission to learn new things?

How would you show up if you extended yourself grace and understanding, rather than judgement?

This past week I noticed I was having the thought “I don’t know what to do” regarding the topic of race and racism.  I was convinced that whatever I would do, it would be wrong.

I felt “damned if I did and damned if I didn’t” … so I did nothing at all. But this didn’t feel authentic to the woman I want to be and I know I wasn’t showing up as the best version of myself when I “did nothing”.

So I reached out to my dear friend, Jennifer, and asked her if she’d be open to having a conversation.  I figured I could at least begin with learning more about a topic I know little about.

Jennifer graciously accepted. She is an expert on the topic, both personally and professionally and she has agreed to have a conversation with me…and you.

She is both brilliant and humble, and I am confident she will lead us in a powerful conversation about race…and racism.

Let’s learn together and empower ourselves, so we can stop telling ourselves “we don’t know what to do”.

In love and light,

Laurie
